How We Help You Measure and Reduce Your Carbon Impact
With new regulations for energy efficiency and carbon emissions in place, sustainability is not only ethically important but it’s key from a compliant perspective. We will help you work out your environmental impact and will advise on ways that you can reduce it.
How We Help You

The Process

-
Assessment: We will carry out detailed assessments of your current energy usage and embodied carbon emissions of your existing AND planned equipment. We conduct detailed assessments of your current energy usage and the embodied carbon of your existing or planned equipment. This process involves data collection, analysis, and benchmarking.
-
Strategy Development: Based on the assessment, we develop tailored strategies to reduce your carbon footprint. This includes recommendations for equipment selection, operational changes, and technology implementation.
-
Implementation Support: We’ll guide you throughout the process as you implement new strategies.
-
Monitoring and Optimisation: We’ll help you track your progress, monitor your energy consumption, and will give continuous advise on how to continuously update how you work to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency.

Sustainability Services
Measuring Embodied Carbon
We have created an accredited framework that measures the embodied carbon of catering equipment. This framework allows us to analyse the carbon footprint associated with each piece of equipment throughout its lifecycle, from manufacturing to disposal.

We use this methodology to help you make informed decisions about equipment selection. You’ll be able to consider environmental impact of equipment, as well as performance and cost.

Reducing Embodied Carbon
We’ll help you choose lower-carbon equipment and to optimise your kitchen design to minimise embodied carbon emissions.
We will also help you get manufacturers to share, and be transparent, about environmental data.
Improving Energy Efficiency
We will help you improve energy efficiency across your business. This means we can help with:
-
Energy Audits: We will carry out energy audits to identify areas of energy waste and potential savings.
-
Best Practices Implementation: We will advise on energy-saving best practices in various operational areas, including:
-
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning): Optimising schedules, temperature settings, and insulation to minimise energy consumption.
-
Lighting Systems: Implementing LED lighting, optimising natural light usage, and utilising controls to reduce energy consumption.
-
Refrigeration: Ensuring proper maintenance, optimising temperature settings, and implementing efficient practices to minimise energy usage.
-
Kitchens and Bars: Implementing efficient equipment usage, optimising workflows, and reducing energy consumption during off-peak hours.
-
Drinks Systems and Cellars: Optimising cooling, insulation, and equipment usage to minimise energy consumption in beverage storage and dispensing.
-
Water Usage: Implementing water-saving devices and practices to reduce water consumption and associated energy costs.
-
General Energy Management: Establishing start-up and close-down procedures, promoting staff awareness, and addressing inefficient practices.
-
-
Energy Consumption Analysis: Analysing your energy consumption data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities for savings

Live Monitoring and Benchmarking
We will live monitor your equipment using integrated systems suitable for food and beverage applications. This helps us benchmark both before and after the process, which means we can keep identifying further opportunities for energy reduction.
The initial benchmarking is conducted live and at a low cost, typically over 3–4 months. We will then monitor equipment on an ongoing basis.
